Our Pest Control Services & COVID-19

New Leaf Pest Control will continue to serve the Portland Metro and SW Washington area during this difficult time as we all weather the storm that COVID 19 has brought upon our community. Pest control and extermination is considered an essential service as recommended by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and as outlined on the executive order given by Governor Inslee on March 23rd, 2020.
New Leaf is honored and grateful to meet the pest control needs of our community. In doing so, we have adapted and implement social distancing and sanitation measures established by the United States Department of Labor’s Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19 at https://www.osha.gov/Publications/OSHA3990.pdf and the Washington State Department of Health Workplace and Employer Resources & Recommendations at https://www.doh.wa.gov/Coronavirus/workplace.

How We Keep Our Customers and Employees Safe

In addition to the measures listed above, we have implemented internal policy that applies directly to our unique interactions with our customers.

  • Prior to arriving to your home, we will call and inform you of our arrival time. Before knocking on your door, we will have personal protective equipment on, including gloves and mask. Our technicians carry disinfectant wipes that will be used on every surface that we touch.
  • We will maintain proper social distancing of at least 6 feet and will not shake hands or touch.
  • We will limit our time inside your home to only what is necessary and will perform exterior applications as much as possible if inside treatment is not entirely necessary.
  • Many of our customers will only want exterior treatment and we have programs that include free interior follow up treatments that can be performed whenever the time is right for you.

In additions to these policies, New Leaf employees are not allowed to work if they are showing ANY signs of illness, fever, etc. All employees are given permission to NOT work if they feel uncomfortable and are encouraged to stay home.

Lastly, our team would like to thank our customers for their continued support in this difficult time. We are extremely grateful for every call, email and appointment. We will get through this together!
